This isn't the glamorous tale of someone working at large agencies on huge client projects. This story consists of a young kid with a strong work ethic and a desire to learn. This is the story of someone truly working from the ground up.
As with most in my field, my fascination with technology and art started at early age. It really didn't take root until 1995 when I was first introduced to graphic design. Computers were coming of age and I had the opportunity to grow with them.
I started working at a small sign shop where I immersed myself in learning the basics of graphic design. I spent countless hours creating mock ads and concepts alongside actual paid work. From there I landed a job at a local advertising agency. I had the opportunity to work with big and small clients on large and small advertising and design projects. This is where I was able to get a feel of just how the advertising business works.
Next stop was an internal marketing department for a large local regional bank. I never thought this would be where my career would take me. But, this opportunity gave me huge exposure to big picture projects, like retail design, branding and web development. After a short time I was promoted to brand and creative manager. This is where I'm at today and I haven't looked back once.
